and old (and four-legged), Lowther Castle offers plenty to enjoy.
to Settle Railway - The nearest station on this scenic and famous railwayline is only 5 miles
away at Langwathby
Hutton in the Forest - is a beautiful historic house set in magnificent grounds and situated jusy a few miles out of Penrith.
The house was already at least 205 years old when the present owners brought it in 1605!
Centre - A visitor centre just a couple of miles away with plenty to do and its undercover!
Abbott Lodge is a working dairy farm set in spectacular scenery of the Eden Valley midway between the Pennines
and the Northern Lake District. The farm produces over 40 flavours of high quality homemade Jersey ice cream
Steamers - sail the length of Lake Ullswater or pop on and off and enjoy the many wonderful walks
along the shores of arguably Englands most beautiful of lakes.
Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre = Situated in the grounds of a walled garden, surrounded by unspoilt parkland,
visitors are able to see over 150 falcons, hawks, eagles, buzzards and owls from this country and abroad.
The birds are flown daily from 2pm until 4pm, weather permitting, a rare chance to see these magnificent birds flown free.
Aira Force Waterfall - A lovely short walk to a beautiful waterfall with 2 charming bridges surrounding it and lovely
strolls alongs the beck. There is spacious carparking and a cafe which is open for most of the 'busy' tourist season.
Please take note that the path does have steep steps and banks at points.
Hall - just under a half mile walk from River Garth, Brougham Hall was built in the 14th century and was
rescued from dereliction in 1985. Nowadays it is one of the largest country house restoration projects in England
and home to an array of arts and craft workshops and businesses.

Eden Valley near Penrith in Cumbria. The home of Lakeland Llama Treks is the Llama Karma Kafe on the
Eastbound A66 just outside Penrith.
Whinlatter Visitor Centre - choose from waymarked forest trails for walkers or cyclists can take on some of the
mountain bike trails. For those with a taste for adventure then why not take on the Go Ape Tree Top Adventure.
Alternatively sit back and just let the kids enjoy the outdoor adventure play area,
Honister Slate Mine and Via Ferrata - visit the slate mine and head underground on an escorted tour or
head higher up on and take on the renowned Via Ferrata - or just have a cup of tea and a scone!
Rock Climbing Club - Fell walking and rock climbing in
the Lake District
House - is an established adventure venue in Cumbria, the Lake District and has been offering a wide variety
of outdoor activities for over 20 years. Family owned and operated, Rookin House has a strong focus on both fun and safety.
Golf Centre - offers a driving range, 9 holes golf course, foot-golf and a golf shop.
